A laugh a day keeps Stress away…

By | May 30th, 2011|Being in the Now, Habits, Health, Stress/Fear/Anxiety|

We all know that laughing feels great but did you know that it's actually good for the body?  I recently found an article about the benefits of laughter... 'Humor is infectious. The sound of roaring laughter is far more contagious than any cough, sniffle, or sneeze. When laughter is shared, it binds people together and increases happiness and intimacy. In addition to the domino effect of joy and amusement, laughter also triggers healthy physical changes in the body. Humor and laughter strengthen your immune system, boost your energy, diminish pain, and protect you from the damaging effects of stress. Best of all, this priceless medicine is fun, free, and easy to use.' Laughter is good for your health Laughter relaxes the [...]

By | December 19th, 2010|Changing Habits, Habits, Resolutions|

The time for making New Years Resolutions is just around the corner and for a lot of people that means frustration, guilt and a cycle that they are very familiar with. Statistics  reveal that 40 to 45% of adults make one or more resolutions or goals for themselves, and only 75% of them make it past the first week and 46% make it past 6 months! Making a New Years resolution is always a good step because you’re 10 times more likely to attain your goal than people who don’t explicitly make goals Do New Year’s Resolutions really work?  Absolutely, anything can work if you resolve to do it and you stick to your commitment.  The trouble is that if a [...]

Are you being kind to yourself?

By | November 3rd, 2010|Habits, Health, Relationships, Weight Loss|

I often work with clients who have issues around food. When I point out that they don't have a weight issue but a 'self-care' issue, something else becomes possible. When did you last do something that deeply nourished you? In our busy world it's easy to put ourselves last and then feel resentful and unfulfilled, but that's not being responsible. Take a look at the different areas of your life.. health relationships career finances home family spirituality Ask yourself,  "where am I not taking care of myself?" Forget waiting for someone else to look after you and start nourishing yourself...now! why? "because you're worth it!!" Do let me know the ways you are being kind to yourself and the difference that [...]

Inspired …

By | September 27th, 2010|Being in the Now, Changing Habits, Habits, law of Attraction|

I've just had an inspirational weekend in Oxford at an Arbonne conference.  One of the key speakers was Michael Clouse.  Michael said that in life what really counts is the way you think.  This of course I know to be true, but I really enjoyed listening to his slant on things. He talked about, philosophy, attitude, actions, results and lifestyle. Philosophy - everything you know and how you choose to believe that information. Attitude - what you think about all day. Actions - what  you actually do. Results - what you get from what you did. Lifestyle - What you are wanting to achieve.  A Lifestyle that works for you. If you have a lifestyle that works for you that's great, [...]

Searching for Happiness

By | August 10th, 2010|Being in the Now, Habits|

If you are searching for happiness, you may well find that happiness eludes you.  Happiness is not something that we find outside of ourselves. If you are expecting something or someone to 'make you happy'  you are going to be disappointed.  Being happy is a choice that we all have, whatever our circumstances, in any given moment. Back in 2005 there was an experiment in Slough in the UK, which was filmed by the BBC.  It was called 'Making Slough Happy'. Below is the Happiness Manifesto, which is taken from the project. The  10 simple steps outlined in the manifesto, can make a big difference.  Why not follow the manifesto and see for yourself how powerful these actions are?  Before you [...]
