Relaxing…… in the build up to Christmas

By |2017-01-13T13:08:48+00:00December 7th, 2013|Being in the Now, Changing Habits, Habits, Peace|

Like it or not Christmas is coming…. the question is are you going to enjoy the build up and beyond, or are you going to be running round like a headless turkey trying to get everything ‘perfect’ and end up ‘stuffing’ yourself?? I strongly recommend that you accept the inevitable and do your best to enjoy the whole experience. Here are some tips to help you make the most of it. Prioritise….do things in order of importance. Even if you don’t manage to get through your ‘to do’ list, do what you can. Be a human being not a ‘human doing’. Say No where appropriate.… The problem with saying ‘Yes’ to please others is that people then expect us to say [...]

Living in Regret

By |2017-01-13T13:08:53+00:00April 12th, 2012|Being in the Now, Peace|

Most of us have said or done things that on reflection we wish we'd rather not have done, but hanging on to regret is such a waste of our time and energy and stops us from living in the present moment.  Are you holding on to regret right now, wishing that you could go back and rewrite the past? We all know that we can't change the past but that doesn't stop our mind going over and over the memory and imagining alternative scenarios. If you are hanging on to regret why not ask yourself this question, 'what was it that I needed and didn't get at the time?' e.g. understanding/support/security/justice/honesty Consider that it's time now to take responsibility for your [...]

Are you Planting Seeds for Peace?

By |2011-09-16T19:18:53+01:00September 16th, 2011|Music, Peace, Uncategorized|

However busy our lives are we can all do one small thing to plant a seed for peace. It's easy to focus on conflict.  We know there are wars taking place every day, all over the world, but did you know that 6.9 billion people did not kill each other today!  If you are anti-war, be pro peace.  One small act of kindness makes all the difference. Come and  celebrate peace with us by coming to a free music event in London on the 21st of September.  For more information on the musicians, the venue etc, see the link below. Thank you for spreading the word. "On this International Day of Peace there is a ceasefire. We are raising awareness and [...]

Make peace with Imperfection

By |2011-09-08T08:27:16+01:00August 14th, 2011|Being in the Now, Changing Habits, Habits, law of Attraction, Peace, Uncategorized|

The other day I was in a charity shop searching for a particular book.  Although I didn't manage to find the book I wanted, I came across another book a friend had recommended years ago.  The book is called Don't Sweat the Small Stuff ..... and it's all Small Stuff,  by Richard Carlson.  I figured there was a reason why I had found this book so I decided to buy it. One of the things I sometimes hear myself thinking is 'I don't have is enough time'.  I even go as far as imagining that if I had more time my life could be 'perfect'. This is a common complaint but the reality is we all have the same 24 hours, [...]

What if the World ended in 2012?

By |2011-03-01T15:52:08+00:00March 1st, 2011|Being in the Now, Environment, Peace, Relationships|

If you knew that the World was going to end on December 21st 2012 what difference would that knowledge make to your life right now? It's easy to stumble along imagining that  'day in day out nothing much changes'  and take people and the planet for granted; but what if you were told that you, or someone you loved, was going to die tomorrow?  In that instant everything would change. I can only imagine that if everyone shared the belief that 2012 was the end of civilisation, people would start working together, after all what would be the point of a war, there'd be nothing to fight for? This is not about scaremongering or wanting anyone to panic, but really  to [...]

Justice, Peace, UFO’s & Alzheimer’s

By |2017-01-13T13:08:56+00:00August 27th, 2010|Guest blog, Interviews, Peace|

A few months ago, you may remember,  I interviewed Lynne Hazelden about the Cosmic Joke, and Planting Seeds for Peace. Lynne sent me a link to an  interview she did with Benjamin Creme.  Benjamin talks about Maitreya, a spiritual leader who is on earth right now, to teach us all how to live in peace.  Some people refer to Maitreya as the '2nd coming'. Here is a clip of Benjamin on youtube - Below is  Benjamin's remarkable interview with Lynne. I was struck by the way Benjamin spoke about this extraordinary subject in such a gentle, but matter of fact way; and I was truly inspired that even though Benjamin had no idea how he was going to begin telling [...]

Acceptance = Freedom

By |2010-08-04T13:40:37+01:00August 4th, 2010|Changing Habits, Peace, Relationships|

What do I mean by acceptance equals freedom? Let me start by giving you an example of not accepting something... Kim and Tom have been married for over ten years.  Kim complains that Tom is incredibly untidy, actually she thinks their study  looks like a 'pig sty'. Any time Kim walks past the study, and catches sight of the 'mess', she feels irritated.  If Kim is having a 'good day', her irritation is relatively minor, but if she's having a' bad day', oh boy! does she feel disgusted and judgemental!  Deep down Kim thinks that Tom is inconsiderate, and interprets his behavior to mean that he doesn't really love her; after all if he did, he would be willing to change [...]

Peace in our Lifetime

By |2017-01-13T13:08:56+00:00July 1st, 2010|Interviews, Peace|

Is peace in our lifetime just a 'pipe dream'? Afterall, many great people have already tried and failed to end war on a global scale. Evidence from the past suggests that World peace is not possible, but what if it is? What if peace starts with the individual. What if it can start with you, right now? Yesterday, I listened to Blog Talk Radio, and Lynne Hazelden (author of The Cosmic Joke) was talking about the possibility of peace on our planet. Lynne believes it's important to celebrate the fact that 6.8 billion people did not kill anyone today!  She, and many others, are now 'planting seeds for peace'. Do check out this inspiring interview, (I haven't timed it but it's [...]
