I know for many Christmas can seem overwhelming; the pressure of 'the season to be jolly', can be all too much. Although Christmas is known to be particularly stressful, suicide rates are in fact down during this time. This is what the Centre for suicide Prevention has to say ... 'Suicide rates may be down during this period, but crisis workers all agree that Christmas can be a very stressful time.  Loneliness, depression, feelings of loss, financial burdens, family conflicts, and alcohol abuse can intensify during the holidays.'
