Do you the take time to nourish yourself in ways that make you feel good?
Or are you constantly running on empty; always putting others before yourself?
At 65, it’s a priority for me to look after myself body, mind and skin. Therefore I have habits that enable me to see it through.
Although I realise this is hardly rocket science!! In my experience, knowing it and doing it, are two very different things! Do you agree?
1. Body: Your physical health is the foundation of your well-being. Taking care of your body involves engaging in regular exercise, eating a balanced and nutritious diet, getting enough sleep, and avoiding harmful substances. When you prioritise your physical health, you have more energy, improved mood, and a stronger immune system, which allows you to better handle life’s challenges.
2. Mind: Mental health is equally crucial for a fulfilling life. Practicing self-care for your mind involves activities that promote mental well-being, such as mindfulness meditation, journaling, spending time in nature, and engaging in hobbies you enjoy. Taking care of your mental health helps reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, and enhances your ability to think clearly and make sound decisions.
3. Skin: Your skin is not just about aesthetics; it is the largest organ of your body and plays a vital role in protecting you from external factors. Good skin care involves cleansing, moisturising, and protecting the skin from sun damage. When you take care of your skin, it can boost your confidence and self-esteem, leading to a positive body image and overall improved mental well-being.
